Don't Miss the Old House & Barn Expo, March 12-13, 2016 at the Center of NH, Radisson Hotel, Manchester, NH

Have fun and learn from the experts at this one-stop-shopping trade show that helps old house and barn owners and enthusiasts with appropriate and affordable solutions. Create your own show “itinerary” and explore garden, architecture, history and preservation strategies through hourly lectures, over 60 exhibitors and many traditional arts demonstrators. Bring photos of a project to share as you get advice in an “Old House and Barn Doctor” session.  Children -- and adults -- will enjoy an Expo scavenger hunt as well as opportunities to try building crafts.

Lecture and demonstration topics include an exploration of architectural features of old homes, solutions to common barn repair problems, energy efficiency measures, tips for healthy homes, paint color and garden information, insurance, real estate and financial concerns, stonewall building and timberframing.   It only comes around every other year, so don't miss it!  “The event is helpful to homeowners whose house dates from 1750 to 1950, those who want to add old traditions to their new house, and people who just love old building crafts and traditions,” said Beverly Thomas, program director at the Preservation Alliance. "It's great if you're doing a small project yourself, or tacking a big one with help," she added.

Cost: $10 for adults; $7 for seniors and students

The New Hampshire Preservation Alliance, the show's presenter, is dedicated to the preservation of historic buildings, communities and landscapes through leadership, education and advocacy.
