Join the NH Preservation Alliance, the NH Division of Historical Resources, and the Wolfeboro Heritage Commission for an in-person regional workshop exploring Preservation Tools for Your Town: Regulatory Tools. This interactive session is designed for Heritage and Historic District Commission members in the Lakes Region and beyond, as well as anyone interested in preserving their community’s historic buildings.
Attendees will gain a clearer understanding of what a Historic District Commission (HDC) is and does, how it differs from a Heritage Commission (HC), what demolition delay is, how effective it is in New Hampshire, and how to adopt these tools locally. Participants will also work through example preservation scenarios and have time to address their questions.
Presenters include Brandee Loughlin, Preservation Planning & Development Coordinator at NHDHR; Martha Cummings, Community Preservation Services Manager at NHPA; and Maggie Stier, member of the Wolfeboro Heritage Commission.
This workshop will be held at the Town Hall in Wolfeboro, NH (86 S. Main Street)
Lunch will be available for a fee of $15, or participants may bring their own.
