Uncertainty about the Federal government's budget support for historic preservation and related areas is causing deep concern in New Hampshire. It is affecting not only the state historic preservation office, but the future of other federal community development programs and grants as well. In the midst of severe weather events that threaten old buildings, villages and downtowns, and when the need to address housing needs and the preservation trades gap has never been greater, we need to work together to explore new ways of doing things and overcome these challenges.
At this 75-minute on-line session, colleagues will offer brief perspectives about the impacts of state and federal policy changes as well as the status of private philanthropy and municipal health. Then, you will have a chance to share your ideas and possible solutions. What we learn at this session will be incorporated into Preservation Alliance action plans that we develop and share later in July.
